Welcome!

The Junior Auxiliary of Wayne County was organized in 1994 and received its charter in May of 1996. We are a chapter of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc., a non-profit service organization founded in 1941 in Greenville, Mississippi. We encourage members to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children. Currently, we have 16 members in our Chapter, who each donate a minimum of 24 service hours a year (a combined total of at least 384 volunteer hours) to provide assistance to needy children and families in our county. In addition, each member spends at least 12 hours per year (192 combined) in continuing education in an effort to prepare themselves to handle the special needs of those we seek to help.

We currently have over 13 service projects that we complete each year. Examples include our Adopt-a-Family project, in which we provide for the basic needs of a selected family and our Kids’ Nuts about Fitness Day, a summer workshop where we teach children about fitness and nutrition. We fund our service projects with several finance projects including our Annual Yard Sale and our Annual Spring Bridge and Bingo Luncheon.

Our National Focus is currently “Healthy Children, Healthy Futures.” Past and present, our members are devoted to making a difference in the lives of the children and families of Wayne County.
